Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu will
miss the remainder of the season due to a serious knee injury, specifically an
ACL injury, sustained while playing for Ghana during an international match
against Angola. Manager Steve Cooper expressed that this is a significant
setback for both Fatawu and the team, especially considering his young age and
potential.
Fatawu, who played a crucial role in helping
Leicester achieve promotion last season, has made 11 league appearances this
season. His notable performance included a comeback win against Southampton,
where he contributed significantly after coming off the bench
Despite the injury, Cooper remains
optimistic about Fatawu's future, emphasizing his talent and character. He
believes that this setback will ultimately lead to a stronger comeback for the
young player. Currently, Leicester sits 15th in the Premier League standings.
